What to do if your birth time is uncertain
Not sure of the exact time? Start with what you know.
STEP 1
Tell us if the time is uncertain
Tell us before the session whether your time is exact, approximate, or unknown, and how you know. A window such as 'early morning' or 'between six and eight' is useful information in itself.
STEP 2
Understand what changes
The calculated ascendant and house positions depend on time. A birth star or pada can also change near a boundary. Ask which details remain stable across the possible time range before relying on a chart or matching score.
STEP 3
Ask what can be discussed reliably
Ask whether a consultation can be useful with the details you have. If birth-time rectification is suggested, ask how it works and what remains uncertain. It is a traditional estimate, not proof of the original birth time.
If the Moon could fall in different stars or padas, do not use a single Gun Milan score as though the inputs were confirmed.
