What do these timings mean?
Tithi is a lunar day; nakshatra is one of 27 divisions along the Moon’s path. The card starts with their values at local sunrise and shows when each changes. A change after midnight includes its date.
Abhijit and Rahu Kaal are traditional time-selection conventions, not guarantees about an outcome. Abhijit is not recommended on Wednesdays in the convention used here, or for marriage ceremonies.
How are the calculations made?
Calculated on your device for the selected city, using Astronomy Engine and Lahiri sidereal positions. Sunrise and sunset use the Sun’s upper edge, standard refraction and a sea-level horizon. Actual visibility and other calendar conventions can differ by a few minutes.
Rahu Kaal selects a weekday-specific eighth of daylight. Abhijit is the eighth of fifteen daylight parts. All times use the city’s time zone, including daylight saving where applicable. Today updates when the city’s date changes.
Fasting and festival dates also depend on observance rules. Use the linked city calendar for those dates; an Ekadashi tithi alone does not confirm an Ekadashi fast.
